Born in Indian Head, Fabian is a first-generation Canadian with deep roots in Cologne, Germany. His most cherished childhood memories revolve around food—watching his mother and Oma prepare bountiful meals for the harvest crews, or persuading his Opa to take him for ice cream. These early experiences instilled in him a profound understanding of food as a source of comfort, connection, and celebration.
Raised on the rhythms of farm life, where meals marked the heartbeat of the day, Fabian carries that same spirit into his vision for Rosemary & Rye. His culinary journey spans over two decades and stretches across Canada, with more than 12 years spent leading high-performing kitchens as Head Chef. Through it all, his approach remains grounded in the values of hospitality, generosity, and a deep respect for where food comes from.
